Images need to bleed off the edge of the document. The reason you need to make the textarea within in the margin is so none of the text you write gets cut off during the printing process. The screen capture below will show you how to exactly do so. Select the Type Tool (T) and go from the top left-hand corner of the margin (purple border) and drag the selection all the way to the bottom right-hand side. By default, the Tools window should be already open, but if it is not, go to Window -> Tools to open it. To input text into your brochure you need to create a textarea. Please follow these images to get a proper brochure. This is the order in which your content needs to go in. What I will do though, is show you how to do some basics with inputting text and images. To add new pages, click the Create new page button at the bottom of the Pages window and it will automatically add another page to the spread. I am going to save it as ‘Half-Fold-Brochure-Tutorial’ and just put it on the Desktop.Īfter you are finished saving open the Pages window by going to Window -> Pages or for Mac Command+F12 or PC Ctrl+F12. Use an easy but descriptive name and save it to a spot where you can find it easily. To save, go to the top menu and select File -> Save or for Mac Command+S or PC Ctrl+S. Once you are finished changing all of the input fields to what you saw in the screencast above you should have 4 pages that all look like this.īefore you go any further you should save the document. The page size is a hortizonal letter-sized sheet of paper in which the measurements are 66p0 x 51p0 I made the document size 33p0 in order to drag the pages together to create the 66p0 (full page width). This is what a lot of graphic artists use because it is so precise. The unit of measurement used in this tutorial is Picas and Points. Pause the video or replay it as many times as you like, just be sure you get the right information. The following screencast has all of the correct information you need to input. Here you will need to input all of the right information for the half-fold brochure to be created properly. Open Adobe InDesign and once it is ready, go to the top menu and select File -> New -> Document or shortcut for Mac Command+N or PC Ctrl+N.įrom here a New Document window will appear on the centre of the screen.
